	COMMUNITIES                               Keanae LIFESTYLE Keanae is a Hawaiian village dating back to ancient times. Kalo (taro) is still cultivated there as well as many other species of native flora. In the recent years that Maui has undergone such drastic development, Keanae has gone virtually untouched (thankfully). Here at Keanae Arboretum you find two 15 minute easy walking trails with a view of the rugged Hana coastline and picnic spots. Inside the Arboretum you can find some 150 varieties of tropical plants (including taro). Great stop for children and to rest along the drive to Hana. This is a nice place to take a few photographs of surrounding vegitation, and just to relax as you make your journey down the Hana Highway.   Ke'anae Stream Ke'anae Stream flows into the ocean at this beach area. A large pool is surrounded by boulders in front of the beach. A small waterfall is located a short distance upstream.
