"breadfruit ripening on the back." That, it is said, is the
description of the length of the journey from Lahaina to Ulupalakua
-- the amount of time it took for the green breadfruit you were
carrying to get ripe as you walked along. Ulupalakua is still far
from the bustle and hustle of Lahaina's crowded shores.
ATV Tour: The
two-hour tour offers a more mellow terrain, but the scenery is still
amazing. Ascend from 2,000 feet to 3,000 feet on numerous trail
routes and observe a beautiful birds eye view of Maui. You'll be
riding through cattle pastures with breathtaking views. Elk can be
seen, as they are the only elk farmed in Hawaii. Frequently we see
free roaming axis deer, elk, and wild birds on this tour. Snacks and
drinks are included.
